How to Build Confidence

How Can I Build Confidence In Myself?

Self confidence is the difference between feeling like nothing can stop you and being absolutely scared out of your wits. The way in which you perceive yourself will have a huge impact on how the world around you also perceives you as well. The more confidence you have in yourself, the more likely it is that you will succeed at whatever it is you set out to do. While there are other factors that can be out of your control, there are a number of different things you can do that will help you build confidence in yourself. By using the strategies outlined here, you will learn how to build confidence and see how easy it can truly be.

The first and most important step in learning how to build confidence is to simply take action. Working on something and seeing it through to completion brings about a feeling of accomplishment and victory, whereas sitting at home and just thinking about getting something done will only make you feel worse.
There are three things you can do to "take action" : stay in the present, don't think about the past or worry about the future. Stay in the "now". Lighten up! When you relax you realize that all the negative feelings you had were just created in your mind, and thirdly, make it something you can't wait to do.

When learning how to build confidence, William Jennings Bryan once said "the way to develop self confidence is to do the thing you fear". It's not always easy to find the courage to face your fears, but there's a way to do it without your knees knocking. Be curious, curiosity is filled with anticipation and
enthusiasm. You also need to realize that fear can be based on misinterpretation, so a more helpful practice may be to not take your thoughts too seriously. An important step in learning how to build confidence is to be prepared, if you know nothing about what you're about to do it's easy to feel lost. Educating yourself on what's expected can be a big help, helping you feel calmer and more in the present.

Building more confidence in yourself means being willing to go exploring and failing again and again and realizing it's really not that big of a deal. Learning from your mistakes is what makes you grow stronger and become more relaxed internally. When you understand more about who you really are,  you will have more confidence in yourself and your abilities.
